On November 8th, 2005, just at the above mentioned minute, the earth started to violently shake in Pakistan’s Kashmir region. The minimal magnitude was 7.6 which categorized it as major earthquake, similar to the 1906 San Francisco one. The official death-toll given by Pakistani government officials was 73,276 while officials say nearly 1,400 people died in Indian-administered Kashmir and two people in Afghanistan. In addition to that, there were more than 106,000 people injured which makes the human impact absolutely horrific!

Our fellow blogger UNAIZA NASIM who lives in Karachi/Pakistan, wrote down her memories of these tragic moments and posted together with them an urgent request for support! Please visit her blog in reminiscence of those terrible minutes which caused so many lives and changed the one of a large part of the country’s population for ever!
