"Why Must We Be So Hateful Of One Another"

I found this post on Chet’s blog “Just Wondering“. It touched me because it comes from a man who had more than his share of hardship and difficulties in his life. One could understand, had he become resentful, distanced and “critical” to say the least but that is not the case.

There’s a LOT of truth in these simple words … with his permission I cross-post it!

Lately I have been thinking a lot about the comments I have read on a friends post and have been thinking about the hatred spewed by some of them. It seems that some people have nothing better to do but be critical of ones faith. When someone of the same faith as another starts calling someone a liar or gets fanatical about what one writes over something that is as small as a recipe, then I begin to wonder about them.

There are more important things to do. The world as a whole is in turmoil and it seems to me that we should be standing together in trying to make it a better world. Men, women and children are starving and dying for no reason other than someone’s greed. Governments are doing the killing just for land or oil. Should we not be standing up to them and give it are all to find peace and try understanding others.

We can make a difference if we stand together and quit are bickering over the petty stuff. All that we got to do is what God says we should do. He wants us to treat each other as brother and sisters. To reach out and help each other instead of putting down others because they are not what we think they should be. We all have different ideas about things and need to respect each other for our thoughts.

It doesn’t mean that we have to agree with each other all the time, but we can find middle ground by respecting someone else’s opinion and thoughts. It would be a pretty boring world if we all thought alike. Lets try and listen to what the other person says and try to be positive about the feedback we give them. To tell someone you don’t agree with them does not have to be in a hateful manner. We can agree to disagree and get our point across to them without the name calling and accusations.

Let’s join hands to make this a more loving and caring world.
